childhood joy outstretching light years

how intent the cat
and over the city din
the death throes of stars
at odds
with the memory . . .
blossoms
the way back
encrypted within
a monarch's wings
broken wing—
lost in the opiate
of being
at its heart
a darkening rose's
summer lust
ground fog . . .
a swan stretches out
the hush
the play
of shadows passing
for a god
morning cool—
a variety of birds
rise in song
sheltering
behind macrocarpas . . .
the warmth within
winds wailing
against macrocarpas . . .
such stillness
regardless
the coffin's descent
inch by inch
sparrow dusk—
a wind swallows up
the last words
viscous night—
shadows suffocating
on darkness
              haiku
another          out of line
the milky way
sowing seeds
of contemplation
this silence
dwelling still before
change is
sun shafts—
golden streams flush out
a peed ant
the way of the rose—
the rouged cheeks of dalliance
no longer quench me
morning call—
not clear in this heat
the sense of it
low cloud
my mind enters
its limits
torpid sun
the shadow of me
bends to my will
unborn babe,
do you breathe also
your absence?
darkness wavers
at its lowest ebb
solstice night
solstice—
9pm and still
the sun's light
advent ends—
an unapproachable light
enters the tent
blessed be he
who gives his blessings
the light he sees
in the mud of the mundane
shall be his inheritance
boxing day
my eyes squint between
here and now
longer days—
my eyes zero in on
the milky way
crackling ice—
vapour infused gin
cools the sun
